① When 引导的时间状语从句
When I meet difficult maths problems, I turn to him for help.——主句用一般现在时 turn to，从句也用一般现在时 meet，主从句同时发生。
When something interesting happens to me, I share my happiness with him.——不定代词 something 作主语，谓语用单数 happens。
② 形容词比较级（more + adj）
more confident / more open / more willing——多音节形容词比较级前加 more，不是 -er。
than before——比较级后用 than 引出对比对象。
③ not only ... but also ...
Friendships are not only about having fun, but also about love, honesty, understanding and trust.——not only A but also B 表示"不仅 A 而且 B"，前后结构对称。
④ 动名词作介词宾语
