1Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519) was an Italian painter, inventor, musician, engineer and scientist.

二、语法和从句分析

1. 定语从句（关系副词省略）：“the way we think about art and science”中，we think about art and science 是修饰 the way 的定语从句，引导词 that / in which 被省略，意思是“我们对艺术和科学的（思考）方式”。
2. 时间状语从句：“As he grew older, he learnt…”中 As 引导时间状语从句，意为“随着他逐渐长大”。
3. 同位语：“one, the Mona Lisa, is…”中 the Mona Lisa 是 one 的同位语，补充说明“其中那一幅”是哪一幅画。
4. 不定式作宾语：“learnt to do many things”中 to do 是不定式，作 learnt 的宾语。
5. 过去分词表被动：“was born”用一般过去时的被动结构，表示“出生”。全文主要用一般过去时（was, showed, learnt, had, changed）叙述过去的事实。
6. 最高级：“the most famous painting”是形容词最高级，most 用于多音节形容词构成最高级。
